Some say that veteran wide receiver Vincent Jackson is washed up, suggesting his age is beginning to show which has caused him to miss time last season. But that was it. Jackson did not miss a game in the previous four seasons averaging over 1,000 yards each of those seasons with quarterbacks like Josh Freeman, Mike Glennon, and Josh McCown.
The offense missed Jackson last season. Quarterback Jameis Winston made the best of what he had when Jackson and Mike Evans went down for some time. His presence alone frees up Evans and gives Winston another respected target. Unfortunately, the time missed messed with the potential chemistry Winston could have built with his 33-year-old veteran receiver.
Jackson is determined to make a comeback this season. He has looked good in offseason workouts and all indications are he will play a major part in this year’s offense, including the slot. Head coach Dirk Koetter has alluded to opening things up some more which will benefit Jackson’s bid for a promising comeback.
Winston will have an extremely reliable and healthy target in Jackson for 2016. The two will look to connect often which means Bucs fans should be excited for this combo this season.
Prediction: 1,000+ yards, 70+ receptions, eight touchdowns
