After trading down in the 2016 NFL Draft, Bucs select Hargreaves

Mock draft season was a boring disaster with the constant repetitiveness of seeing Vernon Hargreaves III, Sheldon Rankins and for a while there, Noah Spence mocked constantly to the Buccaneers at number 9. Anyone that had watched these guys and knew the backgrounds could see the potential fits here and there but ultimately it came down to one guy after trading down:

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers select Vernon Hargreaves III, corner back out of Florida.

The addition of Grimes and a look back to Mike Smith’s previous corners should give fans a hint at the type of player the team wants at corner. Hargreaves is a ball hawk that takes risks and isn’t afraid to stick his head into the line of scrimmage to make plays against the run. A mouthy, cocky player with great foot speed and short area quickness, look for Hargreaves to work outside and inside where he’ll potentially push Verner off the roster.
