Mariota sponsorship not among decision makers

A few months back, Oregon’s Marcus Mariota was originally projected as being the easy selection for the first overall pick in the NFL Draft on April 30. That consensus has since shifted to have Florida State’s Jameis Winston being the No. 1 pick among many, many mock drafts.

Bucs contact FSU, Winston’s character confirmed

It was obvious that the Buccaneers would be doing their due diligence on Florida State quarterback Jameis Winston. Not only did they confirm that they are well within the process, but Winston’s former coach says they have contacted the school about him.
