The Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced today that they have signed cornerback Keon Lyn, cornerback Dax Swansonand tackle Martin Wallace to the practice squad and waived defensive tackle Derrick Lott from the practice squad.
Lyn (6-1, 190) originally entered the league with the Indianapolis Colts in 2014 as a college free agent out of Syracuse. He spent the 2014 offseason with the Colts, before being waived. This year, the Miramar, Florida native spent the preseason with the New York Jets, while also seeing time on the team’s practice squad. Lyn will wear No. 29 for Tampa Bay.
Swanson (5-11, 190) comes to Tampa Bay after spending the last two seasons with the New England Patriots, seeing time on the team’s practice squad during both 2014 and 2015, while also spending the offseason and preseason with the Patriots. Swanson, who played collegiately at Sam Houston State, originally entered the league as a college free agent with the Indianapolis Colts in 2013. He spent the 2013 offseason and preseason with the Colts and was on the team’s active roster, but never saw game action. After being waived, he was signed to the San Francisco 49ers practice squad and spent the 2014 offseason with the 49ers before joining the Patriots. Swanson will wear No. 35 for Tampa Bay.
Wallace (6-6, 330) has spent time on Tampa Bay’s practice squad this season and will wear No. 73.
The team also announced that tackle Demar Dotson (Injured Reserve/Designated to Return) and defensive tackle Akeem Spence (Reserve/Physically Unable to Perform) have both began their 21 day practice period. Spence is eligible to be activated beginning this week, while Dotson is eligible to be activated beginning November 2.
