Bucs-Browns: What to watch for

Buccaneers preseason Game 3 at home will feature several story lines with the obvious: The return of Josh McCown. The game “doesn’t count” so the hype machine is irrelevant, but still cute to mention I guess.

Here are some “real” things to keep an eye on Saturday night.

HerronWR Depth
Rookie Kenny Bell will miss Saturday’s game against the Browns which means more opportunities for the rest of the bubble guys. Receivers Robert Herron, Kaelin Clay, Adam Humphries, Rannell Hall, and Donteea Dye we all get cracks at impressing the staff some more. Humphries did well Monday night while Herron has gone silent. Time for those young guys to make noise this week.

Safety Return
Veteran safety Chris Conte will make his Buccaneer debut Saturday night. The response at the time of his acquisition was mixed with more of those responses leaning towards negativity. In his first game action in pewter, Conte needs to show why he belongs at least on the sidelines with Tampa Bay.

Barth is Back
One of the team’s most accurate kicker in history was re-signed this week after being released by Denver. After Patrick Murray has struggled this preseason, the Buccaneers may have felt Murray could be a risk going into the season in close games. We’ll see what the competition between the two holds.

GilArciaTBC TheBayCave Well done Gil, but you forgot Gilkey snapping the ball over Glennon's head, or maybe getting Jamies sacked.
