Teams have their eyes set on the first week of the season. After all, it’s where the players begin earn their paychecks.
But along with circling games on the calendars comes goals and for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, they have set one of their goals as beating the Tennessee Titans Week 1.
“One of the goals that Coach Lovie put on us from Day 1 was to beat Tennessee,” tackle Demar Dotson said via PewterReport.com. “That’s where we’re going to get started – Week 1. For us not to win any home games last year was real tough. We are going to have to change the mentality of this team and it’s going to start by going out against Tennessee with them coming onto our home turf. We have to win that game.”
As I said, teams set their focus on the first game on the schedule every year. But like I wrote on BucsBlitz.com, the Titans game could be the most crucial and set the tone for the rest of the year.
It appears Lovie Smith feels the same.
