The Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced today that they have placed wide receiver Vincent Jackson and safety Major Wright on injured reserve and promoted safety Kimario McFadden and tight end Tevin Westbrook from the practice squad to the active roster.
Jackson played in 10 games this season, catching 33 passes for 543 yards and three touchdowns. Wright played in nine contests, totaling 25 tackles, one tackle for loss and three passes defensed.
McFadden (5-11, 210) has played in two games for Tampa Bay this season, registering one special teams tackle. He wears No. 33.
Westbrook (6-5, 257) is a rookie out of the University of Florida, who entered the league as a college free agent with the Tennessee Titans this past offseason. The Coconut Creek, Florida, native spent the offseason and preseason with Tennessee, before being signed to the team’s practice squad for the first two weeks of the season. He has been on Tampa Bay’s practice squad since Week 4. He wears No. 81.
The team also announced that they have signed safety Gerod Holliman, cornerback C.J. Roberts and cornerback Joel Ross to the practice squad.
Holliman (5-10, 218) originally entered the NFL as a seventh-round draft pick (239th overall) of the Pittsburgh Steelers in the 2015 NFL Draft. He spent the offseason and preseason with the Steelers, before being waived prior to the start of the regular season. Holliman, a Miami native, played collegiately at Louisville. He will wear No. 28 for Tampa Bay.
Roberts (6-0, 180), a Boynton Beach, Florida native, played collegiately at Colorado State-Pueblo. He originally entered the NFL as a college free agent with the Arizona Cardinals, spending this past offseason and preseason with the Cardinals, before being waived prior to the start of the regular season. He will wear No. 29 for Tampa Bay.
Ross (5-10, 190) joins the Buccaneers after having spent the 2015 offseason and preseason with the Dallas Cowboys. A native of Damascus, Maryland, Ross played collegiately at Appalachian State and entered the NFL as a college free agent with the Cowboys this offseason. He will wear No. 32 for Tampa Bay.
