Lawsuit against Winston won’t factor into Bucs’ decision

Florida State quarterback Jameis Winston is projected to be the No. 1 pick in exactly two weeks by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Many feel it that it is basically a done deal unless something happens from the time their process of looking into Winston’s background started up until the draft.

Well some feel that “something” has popped up today with the news of his accuser, Erica Kinsman, has filed a lawsuit seeking damages in excess of $15,000, per the Tampa Bay Times.

The move was expected and one may have even been able to even predict the timing — just before the draft when he gets his big deal. But regardless of the suit, the Bucs were also expecting this to happen and so it will not play a role in their decision towards the first overall selection. This has also been reported by many other media members.

Some have asked about the league and where they stand in this. After reaching out to the NFL, the suit will also not be viewed in a negative light by the league.

TheBayCave.com will continue to monitor the story for any further developments and update it accordingly if more information becomes available.
