The Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced today that they were awarded tight end Tim Wright off of waivers from the New England Patriots.
Wright (6-4, 220) originally entered the league as a college free agent with the Buccaneers in 2013, before being traded to the Patriots, where he spent the 2014 season. In two years, Wright has played 32 regular season games, with 10 starts, catching 80 passes for 830 yards (10.4 avg.) and 11 touchdowns. The Rutgers graduate also played in three games for the Patriots during the 2014 postseason, culminating in a Super Bowl XLIX victory.
The team also announced that they have waived tight end Taylor Sloat.
